Pray Before You Read
Dear friends, before reading this message, take a moment to pray sincerely. Ask God to open your heart, give you wisdom, and speak to you through His Word.
The Bible’s Call to Youth
The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:12:
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
This verse reminds us of how precious your youth is. Youth is a time of strength, passion, and choices. It is a season where you can either build your future or destroy it.
The Struggles of Today’s Youth
Many young people today face serious challenges:
- Pressure from social media and celebrities
- Addictions like drugs, alcohol, or pornography
- Depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts
- Immorality and broken relationships
- A spirit of rebellion against parents and authority
My dear friends, this is why I pray that you truly understand the value of your youth.
When we were children, we naturally obeyed and respected our parents. But as we grew into young adults, a sense of independence entered our hearts. We started thinking, “I can handle life on my own. I don’t need help.” Confidence grew—but often without God.
Now many of us are influenced by social media, celebrities, and friends, instead of God’s Word. We imitate the world and forget who created us.
You Are Precious and Unique
The Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). God created you in His image (Genesis 1:27) and gave you a unique purpose.
- You are not an accident.
- No one else can take your place in this world.
- Your life has eternal value.
While schools may teach evolution as a theory, the beauty of creation—the stars, the oceans, the green fields—shows clearly that there is a Creator behind everything.
The Choice You Must Make
Every young person faces two choices in life:
- Live independently, following your own desires.
- Depend on God, surrendering your life to Him.
The world tells you, “Follow your heart, do what you want, enjoy life.” But the Bible warns in Ecclesiastes 11:9-10:
” Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.”
Enjoying life without God leads to regret. But choosing God leads to eternal hope.
The Problem of Sin
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve chose independence over obedience. Because of that, sin entered the world.
Sin is more than just doing wrong things—it is a power that enslaves us.
- Sin promises pleasure, but only for a short time.
- Sin robs us of peace and joy.
- Sin brings fear, guilt, and death.
Romans 6:23 says:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The Solution: Jesus Christ
God knew we would fall, but He also prepared a way of salvation. Instead of punishing us, He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, to take our punishment.
- Jesus is not just a religious leader—He is the Almighty Creator.
- He came in human form, lived a holy life, and died on the cross for our sins.
- On the third day, He rose again, defeating death and giving us hope.
Through Jesus, you can be set free from sin and live a new life.
Why Your Youth Matters to God
God has given young people energy, passion, and strength to be used for His glory.
- Obey your parents (Ephesians 6:1-4) — it brings blessing and guidance.
- Be an example in purity and faith (1 Timothy 4:12).
- Remember your Creator in the days of your youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
Your youth is not meant for wasting on addictions, rebellion, or worldly pleasures. It is a season to build a foundation in Christ.
A Call to Surrender
If you feel trapped in sin, addictions, or despair, there is only one way out: surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
If you feel trapped in sin, addictions, or despair, there is only one way out: Jesus Christ. He already paid the price for your freedom. All you need to do is pray:
“Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. I surrender my life to You. Take control of my heart and lead me in Your will.”
When you surrender, Jesus forgives you, cleanses you, and gives you the strength to overcome sin.
Final Word
Dear friend, your life is not meaningless. God created you with purpose and eternity in mind. The world will pass away, but your soul will live forever.
Don’t waste your youth. Don’t be controlled by sin or the pressures of society. Instead, choose Christ today and walk in His freedom.
